Art at the Airport

I installed a bunch of artwork with my fellow graduate students from Marywood at the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Airport this week. The display looks really nice. If you are ever find yourself there be sure to check it out. The artworks will be on display until mid January. I finished my first wall relief sculpture just in time to have it hung in the display. Here are some pictures of the display and several of my wall relief. I also have a few pieces of pottery in the display as well.

Excitement

I have been working very hard on my new work all year. After months of working out technical issues I am finally ready to share this little test guy with everyone.

This is a little proof of concept piece for larger wall relief sculpture I have been working on all year. I am assembling the larger pieces now and will be posting them as soon as they are ready. The larger scale works have several openings cut into the face plate and will illuminate as the viewer gets near. The face plate is made of porcelain with a cast resin eyeball-like form pushing it's way out of the opening. The sides of the piece are wrapped in canvas. Tell me what you think.

First Friday September

Thank you to everyone who came out last night to our tent outside Marquis Art & Frame. It was a great success and we are going to try to be there for next month's first friday.
My show with Ryan Hnat, Effusion, came down this past week. I took several pictures for those who couldn't come by to see the show.
